Our philosophy
Rooted in the things that matter.
A healthy tooth is worth preserving. A question is worth answering. And a person deserves to be heard before a treatment plan is made.

Begin by understanding.
Rooted is built around careful diagnosis and a genuine conversation. What brought you here? What has your experience with dentistry been? What matters most as you think about care?
These questions belong alongside the examination. A plan that ignores your priorities, schedule, or concerns is missing part of the picture.
Preserve when we can. Restore when we should.
Conservative dentistry means considering how to retain healthy tooth structure while addressing disease, damage, and function. Sometimes that means a small repair. Sometimes a more extensive restoration is the appropriate choice.
We will explain the reasoning, including the limitations of a proposed treatment. “Less” is useful when it is enough; long-term health remains the point.
Use technology for a reason.
A scan can help create a precise digital record. A photograph can make a finding easier to understand. Three-dimensional imaging can help answer a specific planning question.
Our approach to digital workflows begins with what they can contribute to care. The tools support clinical judgment and communication; they do not replace either.
Make space for a decision.
You should be able to understand the problem, compare appropriate options, and ask about costs before deciding. When a situation is urgent, we will explain why. When there is time to think, the conversation should allow it.
The relationship continues after treatment through preventive care, monitoring, and maintenance. Rooted is designed around that longer view.
A personal beginning.
Rooted brings together Ryan and Devon Hofsess and their shared care for people, thoughtful dentistry, and a life in Colorado. Ryan’s interests in restorative and aesthetic dentistry sit alongside Devon’s gentle, thorough approach to hygiene and prevention.
Away from the practice, they share a love of running and life with Salt and Pepper, the cats they adopted from the Humane Society in September 2025. Cuddly Salt and playful Pepper bring plenty of affection and personality to their home.
