Emergency Dentistry · Lafayette, ColoradoDental pain deserves attention.
When a tooth hurts or breaks, you want relief and a clear plan. Dr. Hofsess brings restorative, root canal, and surgical experience to urgent dental care, so many common emergencies can be addressed in one familiar practice.
Planned for our February 2027 opening. Rooted is not providing urgent care yet. Contact an established dental office for current concerns.
Know when to seek immediate medical care.
Call 911 or go to an emergency department for difficulty breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling involving the face or neck, uncontrolled bleeding, or a serious facial injury. These concerns should not wait for an email or a dental booking form.
Common reasons to contact a dentist promptly.
Persistent tooth pain, a broken or painful cracked tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling, and dental trauma deserve prompt attention. A focused examination helps us find the cause and plan care that addresses the problem and your comfort.
- Toothache or pain when biting.
- Broken tooth, filling, or crown.
- Swelling or a change after an injury.
- A knocked-out permanent tooth: seek immediate dental care.
Until you can be seen.
Avoid chewing on the affected area and keep any broken restoration or tooth fragment to show the dentist. Do not place aspirin directly on the tooth or gums, and do not attempt to glue a restoration back with household products.
For a knocked-out permanent tooth, time matters. Handle it by the crown, not the root. Contact a dentist immediately for guidance; if it cannot be reinserted safely, keeping it moist in milk can help during transport. Do not reinsert a baby tooth.
A clear path from pain to a plan.
Your visit starts with listening, a focused examination, and any imaging needed to understand the concern. We will explain the options and costs before treatment whenever possible, with relief and the future of your tooth in mind.
In many cases, treatment can begin the same day, depending on the diagnosis and appointment availability. Some care is completed over more than one visit. If a specialist would best serve your needs, we will explain the reason and help coordinate the next step so you know where you are headed.
A broad range of care, close to home.
Our planned emergency services include repairs for broken teeth and restorations, root canal treatment, and extractions when a tooth cannot be maintained. Dr. Hofsess can also plan and place dental implants as part of an appropriate tooth-replacement plan after the immediate concern has been addressed.
We expect to manage most common dental emergencies within the practice. Having several treatment options available helps us tailor the plan to your situation, with specialist support when a case calls for it.
A few helpful answers.
Can Rooted see emergencies before opening?
Rooted is not yet providing clinical care. Seek an established dental office for current dental problems, or emergency medical services for the warning signs above.
Will I need an extraction?
Many painful teeth can be treated and retained. Depending on the cause, a repair, protective restoration, or root canal treatment may help. We will look carefully at what can be saved and explain the options so you can choose with confidence.
What treatments can you provide for a dental emergency?
After opening, our emergency care will include restorative repairs, root canal treatment, and extractions. Many cases can begin treatment the same day when clinically appropriate and time is available. Implant placement is also part of our planned care when tooth replacement is needed; its timing follows an individual assessment and treatment plan.
General education, not a diagnosis or an individual treatment recommendation. An examination is needed to discuss your options.
