Same-Day Dentistry · Lafayette, ColoradoA thoughtful restoration. A simpler schedule.
Your tooth’s comfort and long-term health guide every restoration we plan. Our digital workflow often lets us repair a tooth in a single visit, with a design that protects what is healthy and replaces only what needs help.
Planned for our February 2027 opening. Treatment availability and suitability will be confirmed before scheduling.
Same-day crowns: from a digital scan to a comfortable fit.
An intraoral scan creates a detailed three-dimensional record of your tooth and bite. We use that information to design the restoration around you: its shape, its contact with neighboring teeth, and the way it meets your bite.
After fabrication and finishing, Dr. Hofsess checks the fit, contacts, appearance, and bite before bonding or cementation. Digital precision and hands-on refinement work together to create a restoration that feels at home in your smile.
Understanding the shape of a repair
An onlay
Covers the areas that need repair, including one or more chewing cusps.
A crown
Covers the chewing surface and surrounds the visible portion of the tooth.
More choices for preserving your tooth.
A tooth with decay, a crack, a broken cusp, or a failing filling can need anything from a small repair to more extensive protection. We look at that whole spectrum, choosing an inlay, onlay, overlay, partial-coverage restoration, or full crown around the support your tooth needs.
After removing decay and damaged material, we use immediate dentin sealing when appropriate: a protective adhesive layer over freshly exposed dentin. This supports the bond to the restoration and helps protect the sensitive inner part of your tooth, with comfort in mind from the start.
We then fabricate and fit the restoration, often on the same day, and bond it to the tooth when the material and design allow. Our goal is a repair that looks, feels, and functions naturally while preserving healthy structure and supporting your tooth for the long term.
A visit planned around you.
For suitable cases, completing the restoration in one visit can mean less time away from your routine and no temporary crown between appointments. We will explain the length of the visit and help you know what to expect.
Some complex smile designs, material choices, or teeth that need additional care benefit from a laboratory restoration or more than one visit. We will choose the sequence that best supports your result and keep each step clear, comfortable, and well coordinated.
A few helpful answers.
Could my crown or onlay be completed in one day?
Many suitable restorations can be. The condition of your tooth, your gum health, the material, and your aesthetic goals guide the choice. We will explain whether a single visit or a laboratory workflow offers the best fit for your care.
Does digital scanning replace impressions?
For many procedures, yes. A digital scan records your teeth without a tray of conventional impression material. When another recording method would add useful detail, we can combine approaches to plan your restoration carefully.
General education, not a diagnosis or an individual treatment recommendation. An examination is needed to discuss your options.
